New Yoooork City!

IMG_6721A
On Friday Lauri and I headed up to NYC to surprise-celebrate Alissa's Birthday. We hid out at our friend Kira's apartment and when Alissa arrived to meet Kira for lunch we burst out of the bedroom. It was a success and Alissa was way surprised! YAAAY! We gave her our gifts and then headed out in the rain for sushi. Mmmm...delicious $8 lunch sushi special.

_MG_2658

As an added bonus, I got to catch up with an old friend, Jeremy Tarbox (gotta include a last name that's that cool), who was in town for a short while. Way back in the day Kira and I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia and Jeremy was one of our good Aussie friends when we were over there. It was awesome to get to see him and catch up.

IMG_2671

After lunch we were all going to get mani/pedis but the place was all booked up. :-( So instead we tried hats on since Lauri has been in the market for a new hat. What do we think of this option?

IMG_2677

After leaving the hat shop we couldn't decide what to do. So rather than make a decision and act on it as Jeremy suggested we do (since we were standing outside in the rain) we decided to not make a decision, and instead take turns taking photos of each other jumping up and down. :-) Much more fun. We told Jeremy we didn't want to hear anymore of his rational ideas.

IMG_6730A

Here is the hands down favorite....

IMG_6746A

Jeremy had a great time not only taking the photos...but also holding all our bags. Yaaaay...fun for him!

IMG_6737A

and one more fun one...

IMG_6749A

More photo fun back at Kira's place...we did do other stuff. I swear. :-)

Our direction for these two shots..."crack up." Good actors...no?

Finally, we all headed out to a house party to end our night. Lauri and I opted not to bring our cameras...but Alissa took this photos which we just had to post. Us with this year's Dwight (from The Office) look alike contest winner!!! On Saturday morning Alissa and Corey, aka Dwight, headed to Scranton, PA for The Office convention and Corey, not surprisingly, took home the big prize...well actually, no prize, but he was the winner.

It was a great day...Happy Birthday to Alissa! :-)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

***Warning: if you are easily grossed out, do not scroll any further. Gruesome images below.***

While everyone knows that Katie and I are in business together with Tangerine, what they may not know is that we ALSO work together at our day jobs. So, basically, we see each other ALL THE TIME. Good thing we get along ;-) haha.

What's so great about the company we work for is that they go all out for holidays, and this year Katie and I (along with David from payroll) were elected to be a part of the prestigious "Halloween Decorating Committee". Yay!

Every year there is a best costume contest and an ugly earrings contest. Our group won best costumes! Hooray! But more on that in a bit. Here is "Big Bill" (he and his wife Barbara are the owners of the company) giving his traditional Halloween speech, which this year included all of us singing "God Bless America" :-)

_MG_7459H

Here is Bill and Barbara :-)

_MG_7454H

So our group's theme was some sort of horrible emergency room catastrophe. I'm not really sure, but I think it was pretty much just an excuse to play with fake blood and guts. Here Beth is applying David's wounds as he was the victim, ahem....I mean, patient.

_MG_7444H

I told you it was going to be gross, but just tell yourself it's only make-up. Here is a close up of one of David's wounds. Ewww.

_MG_7450H

Here is Katie as a surgeon. I like her surgeon-esque pose. Well done.

IMG_7469H

Haha. This one just cracks me up.

IMG_7470H

And me as a nurse. I tried to do a serious face, but it turns out I can't not smile. Oh well. My face is still pink from the fake blood. Yay!

_MG_7475H

And here is the group of us :-) Yay us!

IMG_7462H

Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone! :-)

Amy & Rob: Engagement

_MG_2374F

I've known Amy for pretty much most of my life. We grew up in the same neighborhood and she is the younger sister of one of my very good friends, Karyn (Hey Miss Karyn!!). Most younger sisters are pesky and annoying, but Amy has always been adorable. She has the best smile and laugh and my whole family and I just adore her.

Rob I've known since high school. We were in marching band together (band geeks rock!) and rode the same band bus and even ate lunch at the same super cool band kids table. So when I found out these two were dating, I was so excited! And then when I found out they got engaged I was beyond thrilled. They are two wonderful people who deserve all the happiness that they've found with each other.

Here are some of Katie's and my favorites from Amy & Rob's engagement session on the grounds of the Glencairn Museum in Bryn Athyn :-)

The morning of their engagement session, we were so afraid we were going to have to cancel because it was completely pouring outside. But Rob held firm that it would definitely clear up so we all went with his gut instinct and we were so happy we did! It turned out to be such a perfect day.

Double Date Night!

_MG_5240 copy

Friday night Katie, Jason, Mikey and I all went out to dinner in Conshohocken to this little Thai food place on Fayette Street for double date night. Yay double date night! What's great is that Mikey and Jason are really getting used to the camera being around ALL THE TIME documenting EVERYTHING. I think they may even be starting to enjoy it :-)

On our walk back to Katie & Jason's, we took a few silly shots of each other. The direction for this one was to squish your heads together. I think they got it right :-)

_MG_5249

Katie's self-take with me back there doing something. I don't even know.

_MG_5265

Then it was time for Mikey and Jason to embark upon a Wii bowling showdown. If you guess who won correctly, you get a good job :-)

_MG_5294

_MG_5301

And while the guys bowled, Katie and I kept ourselves busy taking random (and very attractive) photos of ourselves :-) Fun!

Lilah's 1st Birthday!

_MG_2392R

Katie and I recently had the pleasure of celebrating Lilah's very first birthday! Yay Lilah! The party was so great, Lilah's parents went all out. The theme of the party was bugs, lady bugs to be exact. It was soooo adorable. And how fantastic are these cupcakes that Lilah's mom hand decorated??

lilah11

_MG_3199F

To celebrate her first birthday, all of Lilah's friends and family partied it up at Gymboree which was such a great idea because everyone, even the adults, had an absolute blast!

Lilah3

The kids just had this crazy boundless energy, it was amazing just watching them bounce around on all the equipment and play with the toys. I was exhausted just watching them!

How cool is the parachute?? Don't you remember playing under it in gym class when you were little. Man, I LOVED the parachute!

_MG_3012F

_MG_2869F

At one point all the kids got outfitted with bug dilly-boppers (that's what we call them in my house). I sooo wanted a pair.

_MG_3071F

Lilah got to sport a special lady bug pair :-)

lilah5

lilah10

Even the adults got in on the bug action.

_MG_3277F

And then it was time to sing!

lilah7

Lilah got her first taste of cake and she LOVED it!

lilah8

I absolutely love this shot that Katie took. Mmmm, pizza....so delicious.

lilah6

Lilah also spied herself some pizza.

lilah9

As everything began to wind down, Lilah tired of her bug dilly-boppers and the sleepies started to set in. I think that's definitely a good sign that she partied her little heart out for her first birthday :-)

Happy First Birthday Lilah!!! :-)
